The 18th  of July is now celebrated as Mandela day, the Birthday of this great peace loving man, Nelson Mandela who fought and struggled for liberty and equality all of his life, who suffered for too long as a prisoner of Apartheid, who was forgiving but never forgot. Before being a statesman he was a truly humble human being.

Mandela
My eternal man
Mandela
My eternal man

The scent of your breath
The scent of freedom
O, Mandela
Your eyes have the color of freedom
O, Mandela

The scent of your breath
The scent of freedom
O, Mandela
My eternal man

Your hand is the flag of freedom
Freedom
Freedom
O, flower,  your name is the symbol of freedom

Tulips
Meadow saffrons
Seek your scent
And red poppies ask you:
"Where is the freedom" The beloved Mandela

Our eternal man
Our eternal man

I'm with you
O, you, flower of freedom

I'm with you
O, flower! O, Mandela
Mandela
Our eternal man
Mandela
Our eternal man

I'm with you
O, you, flower of freedom
I'm with you
O, flower! O, Mandela
Our eternal man

Written by poet Pezhman Mosleh

Translated by Vida Kavoosi

Pezhman Mosleh, an international Iranian composer and musician who sang and composed this Persian song for Nelson Mandela. He dedicated it to him when Mandela was still alive, it has attracted so much attention including in the home of Mandela, with the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC News).

Pezhman said:
"When Mandela passed away, the long walk to freedom became longer and harder. I wish with my tears that every parent talks about Mandela to their children, shall their children grow up firmly and with faith."

Nelson Mandela spoke often and with great passion about the Apartheid in Israel and the terrible human rights violations against the Palestinians. The champion of the indigenous people of Palestine may have died but his legacy of honesty in the face of the Apatheid Israeli Genocide lives on. In the name of peace - Happy Mandela day.
