Mary Carewe is a uniquely versatile and charismatic concert and recording artist.
As a soloist she has appeared at London’s Royal Albert Hall and Royal Festival Hall, La Salle Pleyel in Paris, Berlin’s Philharmonie, The Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and New York’s Carnegie Hall.
She studied musical theatre at London’s prestigious Arts Educational Trust and then focused on singing – writing songs and working as a session singer. She collaborated with French producer Cerrone on the singles ‘Where are you now’ and ‘Club Underworld’ as well as being briefly signed to Magnet Records with her band ‘Soft Touch’.
Through numerous appearances on BBC Radio 2’s Friday Night Is Music Night, Songs From The Shows and other live music programmes she gained a reputation as a concert soloist with orchestras and has toured the world performing in Australia, Asia, the USA, Russia, China and around Europe and the UK.
She has recorded numerous CDs of film, music theatre and pop songs for a variety of record labels as well as 2 CDs of cabaret songs.
Mary features on the original ADIEMUS albums by composer Karl Jenkins including the international hit ‘Adiemus’ and she has sung a number of TV themes, radio idents and jingles – she apologises for ‘Autoglass’!
