Soon after its establishment at the end of 2009, PiKare became famous in Kocaeli, Turkey. The band was founded by Ediz Uyanık (on lead guitar) and Mert Selimoglu (on rhythm & vocal). The style of the band was finally shaped by the participation of Karl Machin on drums. In the same year, the band shared the stage with Ogun Sanlisoy in Kocaeli Rock Fest Organization. Their interviews were published in local newspapers and Absolute Radio, based in London. Alongside their own songs, the band also performs covers of Classic-Rock, Pop-Rock, Alternative-Rock, Rock & Blues numbers at their gigs. They perform in rock bars and performance halls in the Marmara Region, especially Istanbul, Kocaeli and Sakarya.
In parallel with their musical careers, Mert Selimoglu works as a scientist, with an expertise in biotechnology and bioengineering and writing articles about bioethics field at the same time. Ediz Uyanik is working as a senior environmental engineer for a private company, in Turkey. Can Yersel is working as logistics manager. Kerem Guven is studying musicology in the State Conservatory of Kocaeli University and he is a dedicated peace activist as the most active member of the philanthropist band, PiKare.
