Tony was a Tory, yeah, and so was his dad.
He wanted all the sort of things that top Tories had.
He wanted lots of money, houses, that sort of stuff,
But soon discovered he was not quite Tory enough.
So he joined the Labour Party, used all his charm.
He found that everybody fell for his brand of smarm.
And just as people couldn't take the Tories no more,
He found that he was pushing on a half-open door.

TONY NEVER KEPT OUT OF SIGHT
THAT IT WAS ALL ABOUT MORE MONEY FOR HIM.
Tony was a Christian, but he didn't let on.
He thought he had a line to God so couldn't be wrong.
So when another Christian called George came to power,
He knew the Transatlantic link was destined to flower.
Now when dear George decided he would hit at Iraq,
He knew just who to call - our Mr. I'm All Right Jack,
It didn't matter if the war was based on a lie
Or if a hundred thousand poor Iraqis would die. (Iraq and ruin).

THAT IT WAS ALL ABOUT MORE MONEY FOR HIM.
Maggie and the Tories thought that banks should be freed.
And soon it led to gambling and unfettered greed...
But Tony never looked at how our wealth should be shared.
The rich get even richer? Well now...Why would he care?
Thus he ran New Labour till it all was too late
And chickens all came home to roost in 2-0-0-8.
So Tony did a runner and was gone in a flash,
Though first made sure that he'd a job that paid lots of cash.
