Who let evil men steal our land
Spill our blood upon the soil
Crush our bones into the sand
You cry for cats and dogs like sheep
Whilst our children scream in pain,
Too terrified to fall asleep
For fear they miss the coming planes.
You who talk of the future
Must know it cannot be
Unless we join together
with love across the sea
Across the divide of hate,
permanently free.
Who are you to talk of honor
Who let evil men reward your toil
With empty words like democracy
As they send your sons to steal our oil
And when your children die at arms
Against a paid adversary
Ask yourself who paid his wage
And pays the wage of our enemy.
You who talk of the future
Must know it cannot be
Unless we join together
with love across the sea
Across the divide of hate,
permanently free.
Who are you to speak of faith
Or talk of truth and decency
When the war for oil springs from lies
Foolishly you believe you’re free.
Individually, religiously you act selfishly
Seeing us as different lessening your care
Ask yourselves why you do this
Is your humanity even there?
If we talk of the future
To be sure that it can be
We must join together
with love across the borders,
with love across the sea
Across the divide of hate,
Permanently free.
Permanently free.
Permanently free.
